[WATCH]: The Disrespect Towards Women Must Stop – Eno Barony Delves Into Strongman & Kweku Smoke Beef

Ghanaian rap artist and the only female to ever win the Best Rap Performance at the prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Eno Barony, has waded into a recent beef between colleague rappers Strongman and Kweku Smoke.

The musician who prides herself as “The Queen of Kings,’ has advised colleague rappers to respect women and children during their rap beef.

Her comment was in relation to the growing trend where male rappers including Strongman, Medikal and Kweku Smoke abuse the female partners and even children of their rivals during ‘beefs.’

Speaking in an interview with NY DJ on Y102.5FM in Kumasi, Eno Barony stated it was unfortunate that women had to suffer anytime the men came to “play.”

“In Ghana, whenever there is a beef, women suffer. Let me take it from my brother, my bestie, Strongman and Medikal, Nana Ama suffered right? It went to the other side and Fela Makafui also suffered. Even in my time, women suffered from insults,” she said.

Eno Barony believes that ‘beefs’ must be lyrical and not insults.

“I feel beefs must be lyrical. The insults, I don’t know. It doesn’t work for me.”

She went ahead to advise the male rappers to respect women and children enough to keep them out of their ‘beefs.’

“People should respect women enough. I mean, what did they do? Why should women always suffer when the boys are playing? At the end of the day, you guys can easily patch up. How about the things you said about the women? Do you think she’s going to forgive you? It’s not cool, the disrespect must stop,” she said.
