I’ve Never Called For A Ban On Nigerian Music Or Any Other a Foreign Music On Our Airwaves – Black Sherif

Musician Black Sherif has indicated that he never called for a ban on foreign music on Ghanaian airwaves.

He says all he and his colleagues are preaching is prioritising Ghanaian music in December, as it will help artistes break boundaries.

KK Rasta, as he is popularly known, said it’s sickening that people will misconstrue what he said to paint him in a bad light.

“I don’t know where in my speech that says ban foreign music. How crazy can you spin a message that says love your culture and try play local music to your visitors if you wanna see your country creatives break boundaries. How do I want foreign music ban in my country while I work with foreign producers and Artistes? But agenda set ah lie? Good luck to everybody.”

Black Sherif and some colleagues in the music industry are on a mission to get Djs among others to prioritize Ghanaian music in their playlists.

They believe that giving priority to music made in Ghana is another step toward selling the country’s creatives.
