I Would Have Projected Black Sherif If I Were Ghana’s Entertainment Minister – Sonnie Badu

Ghanaian gospel singer, Sonnie Badu, has asked the Ghanaian Music Industry and its stakeholders to throw their support behind Black Sherif should so he can represent Ghana on the international stage.

According to him, the ‘Soja’ hitmaker has everything it takes to take Ghana international, adding that the entire country can only help him by supporting his career.

He further asserted that Black Sherif’s big win at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was in the best interest of the music industry.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, the ‘Baba’ singer divulged that even though Blacko’s main competitor in the Artiste of the Year category, Piesie Esther, did wonderfully well in the year under review, the reigning VGMA ‘artist of the year’ is in a better position to represent Ghana on the international stage.

“We have to be deliberate. If I was the entertainment minister, I would look out for this guy and project him in this season. It’s a Ghana agenda, not an individualistic agenda. “Piesie did excellent but it was good Black Sherif won it. Black Sherif just received an award in the US and that is what Ghana wants,” he added.
