I Regret Beefing With Shatta Wale – Yaa Pono
Yaa Pono, a lyrical genius in our music scene has expressed his dissatisfaction in engaging in a highly publicized feud with Shatta Wale.
Shatta Wale and rapper Yaa Pono had a big dispute in 2017 after engaging in a strong musical debate.
Shatta Wale released a diss song for Yaa Pono in which he insulted him. A few days after releasing a diss track for Yaa Pono, he returned with Gbee Nabu, one of the most popular and contentious diss songs.
Yaa Pono brought Michy, Shatta Wale’s then-girlfriend, into the feud, questioning her if their kid “Majesty” was the dancehall artist’s biological child. This phrase in Yaa Pono’s diss song sparked debate and caused many individuals to speak out.
Yaa Pono has said that he regrets recording a diss song for Shatta Wale five years later. Shatta Wale, he claims, acted “foolishly” and regrets following his lead in responding to him with a diss track.
“I regret replying to Shatta Wale’s diss song. I wish I didn’t follow a fool”, Yaa Pono told Hammar Nti on Pure FM Kumasi.
“That is why I’m saying I’m also a fool. But I want him to know that I am more foolish than he is, the only difference is that I don’t do live video. I regret doing it but I enjoyed it”, he added
