Afua Asantewaa First Reaction To Successfully Breaking The Guinness World Record With Her Over 126-Hour Sing-a-thon

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has emerged triumphant in her quest to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual singing marathon.

The ambitious sing-a-thon concluded around 7 am on Friday, December 29, 2023, after an astounding 126 hours and 52 minutes of singing.

Amidst earlier speculations regarding the conclusion date due to unexpected breaks, Afua surpassed the previous record set by Indian singer Sunil Waghmare, who sang for 105 hours in March 2012.

Crossing the 105-hour mark at 9:10 am on Thursday, December 28, 2023, Afua solidified her determination to etch her name in history and did 21 hours more.

The journey to this record-breaking feat commenced at midnight on December 24, 2023, at the Akwaaba village.

Afua, an entrepreneur with a passion for music, dedicated her sing-a-thon solely to performing Ghanaian songs, captivating audiences that included A-list musicians and politicians.

The event drew widespread support from Ghanaians both locally and across social media platforms, creating a unifying spectacle of national pride.

After she successfully completed, Afua took to her Facebook wall to shared a post on Friday, Afua to express her gratitude, stating, “THIS IS WHERE I END MY JOURNEY! 126 HOURS, 52 MINS. WE BROKE A RECORD AND SET A NEW ONE. IT WAS YOUR LOVE, DEDICATION, MOTIVATION AND PRAYERS THAT GAVE ME THE STRENGTH TO GET ON MY FEET EVERY TIME AND KEEP GOING FOR THIS LONG. IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU! THANK YOU EVERYONE, THANK YOU GHANA! 🇬🇭❤️”
